WHAT'S THE PATTERN ABOUT?
A sewing pattern for a convertible geometric patchwork quilt featuring a central diamond motif with expanding star patterns in warm, earthy tones. A cleverly integrated generously sized patchwork hood sits within the central diamond, allowing the quilt to be worn poncho-style. When not in use, the hood folds neatly out of the way and is secured with a button, so the quilt can be used as a blanket - making it perfect for camping trips, stargazing, festival adventures, or cosy evenings at home.
Includes instructions for both patchwork and pre-quilted versions.

ARE SEAM ALLOWANCES INCLUDED?
YES - 6 mm (1/4 inch) seam allowances have been added to all patchwork pattern pieces. And 12mm (1/2 inch) have been added to hood pieces.
WHAT SIZES CAN I MAKE?
This pattern makes one size: approximately 126 cm (50") wide × 141 cm (56") high when laid flat. Expect 5-7% shrinkage if cotton fabrics are not pre-washed.
WHAT TYPE OF FABRIC SHOULD I USE?
Quilting cotton for patchwork version, OR pre-quilted fabrics, OR ready-made quilts (single bed size approximately 130 cm × 180 cm / 51" × 71")
HOW MUCH FABRIC WILL I NEED?
For Patchwork Version:
Fabric requirements are based on 112 cm (44") wide fabric:
- White: 175 cm (2 yards)
- Natural: 50 cm (⅝ yard)
- Green: 25 cm (⅓ yard)
- Yellow: 50 cm (⅝ yard)
- Orange: 50 cm (⅝ yard)
- Red: 50 cm (½ yard)
Wadding: 210 cm (2⅓ yards) - standard width 229 cm (90") or wider
Backing Fabric: 440 cm (5 yards) for 112 cm (44") wide fabric OR 210 cm (2½ yards) if using wide backing fabric (274 cm/108")
For Pre-Quilted Fabric/Ready-Made Quilt:
- Main quilt: 126 cm × 141 cm (50" × 56") minimum
- Hood: 136 cm × 50 cm (54" × 20") minimum
- OR one standard single bed quilt (approximately 130 cm × 180 cm / 51" × 71")
Binding: Approx. 9 m (10 yards) of 6.5 cm (2.5") wide binding to bind all edges of the quilt, including the hood and inner seams
